INTROS + MONTHLIES

Who: newbies + everyone
When: Day 56, late morning
Where: The Aurora and surrounding area

[Yet again this morning, you get an announcement on your Chain:
WELCOME NEW HEROES
Newbies are waking up in their rooms, in pyjamas or in nondescript team-coloured underwear. As usual they get the basic welcome message, as well as a prompt to view the IC guide.

When you're done welcoming them, or while you're at it, you'll notice that while clocks say it's late morning, the sun has still not risen. As it was on the first Star, the sky remains dark and empty and the air somewhat cold. Not cold enough for the frost you see on the windows, though...

From a distance, the frost looks like a typical wintery pattern of ice, beautiful and delicate. But on inspection it's not frost at all -- it's a sugary mold climbing up the sides of the train and, outside the immediate clearing, growing in thick fuzzy patches on the trees and bushes.

Touching or inhaling this mold will cause your skin to start to crystallize painfully into sugar. Physical affection will heal you, but it'll also give you a psychic link to the person you touched. For a few hours you can sense eachothers emotions, and in some cases even share thoughts or memories.

The mold will last for the remainder of the OOC month, but who knows what else tomorrow will bring!]

Solar... You are perhaps the perfect person to be here. If only you had your full memories...

[The sugar is finally gone, but Loki keeps looking at his hand and flexing it. There's a memory of a blue giant grabbing his wrist, and the whole area turning blue, the same color as the attacker's skin.]
daydreamshimmer: (You don't get it!)

I don't know if I know anymore than that. Harmony magic is the stuff of legends. If Celestia wasn't a user of them, it would be debatable if they even existed.

[But even if she talks fairly calm, the compliment gets a very strong emotional reaction.]

[And it's doubt and disbelief.]

[Everyone describes friendship and she's either right or completely wrong and there's no inbetween.]

[Her breath hitches though as the memory starts and she quickly let's go like she's been burned because she knows he doesn't want her to do it.]

That is more than I know, more proof of its existence than where I am from. Anything we have that you might call harmony magic is merely stories meant for children to comfort them. Our ruler certainly does not wield them himself.

[Loki feels the doubt and disbelief, but those are both regular parts of the background radiation of his emotional state, so he doesn't recognize it as external. But it does mix with his other thoughts and send his mind down another, more painful memory hole.]

If he did, he would not have made the mistakes he did.

It's a rare fairy tale that doesn't have grains of truth in them. Even without harmony magic, you need people for grand...

[Except she just stops because there's the memory and it's. Honestly, the strongest of her own emotions is confusion because his father just fainted from getting yelled at????]

[And then righteous fury.] How dare he!
bestbrotherever: (sneer)

[personal profile] bestbrotherever 2020-02-03 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Righteous fury, he likes that. It fuels his own, with some extra bitterness returned.]

He dares because he is the All-Father, he does not make mistakes. And if he somehow does, then it is impossible that another could be right when he was wrong.

[He pauses. Confusion? And she seemed more personally invested with that outburst, like she'd seen something? He looks between them, notes that they aren't touching.]

Solar... did you see my memory? Though we are not in contact now...
daydreamshimmer: (that is breaking some kind of physics)

[personal profile] daydreamshimmer 2020-02-20 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Of course people make mistakes! Even Celestia isn't all knowing and she's literally immortal and just has to keep track of a country! There's a reason she keeps library, it's because sometimes you have to look things up again!

[Pauses at that because she was too distracted with fury.]

What-but there's no bat this time!
bestbrotherever: (frown)

[He frowns and furrows his brow, trying to think about how memory-sharing might have happened, but the stress of everything just makes him too exhausted to analyze, which she's also likely to feel.]

This place defies any understanding. The only constant is that our minds will be shared in some form and we may have a hint as to how.
daydreamshimmer: (You're crazy)

[....sweet pony Jesus.]

That's just unfair. I barely know how my powers work and now it's gonna be a constant 'did I do this on accident, or is it the train again?' [Which is a real specific problem for her, but it's ANNOYING.]
bestbrotherever: (facepalm)

[personal profile] bestbrotherever 2020-03-05 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Resting a hand on her shoulder in sympathy.]

That is the worst possibility when one is attempting to master one's own magic.

["Remember, my son, always be aware of what is real, what is your doing, and what is magic unknown. Lose sight of that, and you will never truly master your magic." Frigga's words, and her face, come to his mind, with a lot of feelings of longing. He misses her so much.]
daydreamshimmer: (Why is it so weird?)

[personal profile] daydreamshimmer 2020-03-05 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
It really is-

[Breathes in sharply because oh.]

[Oh.]

[And there is a pang of envy because it'd be nice to remember someone who actually gave her some guidance about all she could do.]

[But also relief.]

...at least she seemed sensible. [Unlike mister SUDDEN NAP.] And nice.
