Origin Star Finale: Session 3
Who: explorers
When: Day 54, early afternoon
Where: The Final Island
[After returning from the second mission with a little extra cargo, Thyme waits another 20 minutes before calling for the third and hopefully final round of totem hunting.
Characters attending session 3 may now board the airship. As it flies, they'll get their briefing:]
If you haven't gone in yet, please pay attention.
Your objective is to find and deactivate a totem -- a source of Malice in the target area. You'll probably come up against enemies, but try to defeat them by showing them positive emotions, not through combat. Defend yourselves if you have to, but keep in mind killing things won't purify them.
This is the last totem as far as we can tell, so it's vital that you get to it one way or another.
[You land, this time, in a clearing in front of a ruined temple. The heavy bronze doors, cast with images of stars, have swung open, and one has fallen from its hinges to lay in the grass.]

One more. If you have the energy to help, climb aboard.

Re: ROOM 6
Roll a 2, apparently. ]
Re: ROOM 6
NO! Get away!
From the floor shoot tendrils of phantom thorns, glowing red, reaching up to wrap around you and trap you in place. They cut into your skin, leaving you bleeding from scores of punctures -- not life-threatening, but very painful.]
Re: ROOM 6
Are you serious?! Fuck off!
[ He's going to grasp the sword for all it's worth and he's just gonna damned well hope that he can move his arm enough to cut at the phantom tendrils and that it'll be enough to cut through them. Because if not, well, he's fresh out of ideas. ]
Re: ROOM 6
If your feelings are negative and your intent aggressive, roll again.]
Re: ROOM 6
He rolls a 5! How's that go for him? ]
Re: ROOM 6
The ground below him seems to open up, forming a narrow pit. It's too muddy to climb up, and as he lands at the bottom it begins to fill with brackish water...]
Re: ROOM 6
And then he remembers something.
"An earnest prayer, given with hope, will send all but the most vengeful spirits along to peaceful rest."
So while the hole is filling up with brackish water, he's going to close his eyes. ]
Aidios, I really hope you're listening right now. Ghost Boy over there seems to be in a lot of pain and yeah, I got pretty pissed and fucked up. But I'm pretty sure guy's just scared. Scared and alone and in a lot of pain.
I don't know who he is or what his circumstances are, but I'm guessing he can't be at peace. So if you're listening, I'd really like it if you could help the guy out. Even if it's too late to save me, as long as it helps this guy...
Well. I ain't a great guy and I know that, but maybe there's still some good I can do.
Re: ROOM 6
The red light up above is replaced by a pure one, as the liquid in the bottle shifts to a sparkling white. The water in the pit clears, and the bottom lifts til Crow is able to climb out.
The voice is no longer full of fear.
...Ah, I see. You can fix it without me, can't you, Lily...?
It fades out along with most of the glow, leaving the bottle full of inert shimmer. Whether there's still a ghost in there is a mystery, but the corruption has lifted from the temple. There are no more monsters of bad effects -- only greenery and a sense of divine peace. Injuries aren't healed, but no longer do they resist healing.
You may return to the main event mingle. This part of the event will conclude with tomorrow's post.]
Re: ROOM 6
That being said, he's pretty honestly shocked that he's going to be able to escape this. But Crow's not the kind of guy to look a gift horse in the mouth, so he's going to climb out of the pit once he's able to get out.
He looks around-- it's peaceful now. He takes a moment to enjoy the peace and then starts to limp away on his still-injured leg. ]
