Origin Star Finale: Session 2

When: Day 54, noon
Where: The Final Island

[At nearly noon, Thyme's airship returns from the island with the first session's explorers. Everyone receives a chain message:

Time for round two. If you want to go, gather up.

Those who wish to go looking for the second totem can now board the airship. It waits around 20 minutes -- long enough for a quick break for those who are going twice in a row -- but then heads off again with its new crew. Along the way, everyone gets a lecture:]

Okay, for everyone who missed it the last time, here are the rules:

You're not looking for a monster to beat up. You're looking for a totem, that you'll have to deactivate by showing positive emotions. Any creatures you meet on the way can also be beaten with good feelings. Some can be killed, but that's not purifying the soul, so try to avoid it.

[When you arrive, it's at a damp sea cave. The airship hovers over the water, leaving you access to the only viable ground -- a narrow, salt-crusted stairway leading up into a tower.]

Hey...! [ Concern and worry etch across her face and she rushes toward the spot where she disappeared. ]

ARE YOU ALRIGHT? Oh my gosh...! Hey--! We... We'll get you out! Somehow...! [ Although how!? It's not like she has some kind of magical powers...!

. . . They... were told to think positively, right? ]

It's alright! You're alright! I'm going to help you! No matter what, everything is going to be alright!

[ The wall hadn't harmed her when she touched it a moment ago. Swallowing thickly, she rests her hands against the spot. ]

It's alright--

I'm absolutely not alright!

[ she doesn't know if this is worse than some of the other stuff she's been through but she is absolutely fuming with frustration, she'd like to get out of here.

'try' being the key word tho

and maybe seeing if she can't reach out-- ]

I know-- I'm sorry, it's scary right now. But we can get through this. We... we were all told that we have to think positive, right? That's how we can protect ourselves and help the star, ultimately. We have to believe that everything will be alright in the end, even if we can't see it right now.

[ Reaching her hand out for her ]

So come on-- lets get out of there. We just have to believe that we absolutely can. I won't leave or abandon you here, so let's do our best and get out of here together!

From there, it's a matter of will -- Inaba's will to pull Tohru in, or Tohru's will to rescue Inaba? Of course, positive feelings are always stronger, if expressed in equal portions.

[ well, while Inaba has a lot of strength in negative emotions and the want to pull her in is also there it seems that the positivity wins out this time, you fiend as she's eventually just yanked right on out to be saved from it--

but also she is absolutely going to tumble out of that place because there is no soft landings here.

[ RUNNING TO CHECK UP ON HER. ]

Are you okay!?

[ Thank goodness. Thank goodness that it worked! She reaches down to try and pull her up. ]

I think so. . .?

[ she laughs a little awkwardly as she takes her by the hand to pull herself up ]

The emotions from that place were a little overwhelming, so I think I need a bit.

Of course...! But... you were amazing. You made it out of that place.

[ After literally being pulled inside a wall! ]

I'm not sure why this is happening, but-- we just have to keep doing our best. Maybe it would be best to sit and rest for a moment, though. We'll all get through this together.

Honestly, I wouldn't say that. I honestly shouldn't have touched it in the first place. Or at least had my secret weapon on before touching anything.

[ she'll definitely remember that at the very least for next time. ]

But yeah, that's probably for the best. . . for now, anyway. Then we can keep moving forward once everyone is out.
