[and after dragging herself back from the med car, time to wait for 80H. So she's working in a sketchbook, moving a pencil over the paper with telekinesis.]

What happened?
no subject
[Very. Flat and lacking emotions in that answer.]
[BUT THAT PROBABLY COVERS IT.]

Is everyone else...?

She's hurting, but she's responsive, so that's something.

....wouldn't know cool sun symbols, would you? I'm looking for something different for what I'm thinking of.

You really can maintain all this without any strain?
[It's really impressive illusion work. Especially with the illusion sticking to her coat.]
no subject
Of course. Simple illusions like this, that is not intended to be reactive nor permanent, are hardly noticeable. I could easily do the same to the other walls, with any image I choose. [Said with a wink. Meaning, got any requests?]

[He waves his hand and large pillars block the view at intervals, throwing shadows into the room. They also have vines twining around them, and the corners now contain trees. A few prickly pear cacti also appear scattered around.]
no subject
[She hums, looking around and laughs a bit at the cactus.] Well, the prickly certainly works for the train's theme.

You recognize these plants? They are unknown on Asgard, but common near the town on Midgard where my brother spends most of his time.

The home of the gods. It's difficult to give a name to a place that is pure spirit, without matter. Hard to even consider that a place in the same way a city or a mountain is a place. Humans aren't really meant for considering that sort of thing since we are made of matter and spirit, and live in a world that has both. Even brief encounters with the divine are... hard to describe in ways that capture the feeling.
[spoken like a man with personal experience]

[He finds that a little unsettling. But he'll try to hide that.]

Desdemona is my demon. I'm a Temple sorcerer.
I'm going to have to explain that, too, aren't I?
no subject
I suppose, if you feel you must. [As if he doesn't care at all and is only humoring the human.]

But they're considered under the domain of the Bastard, god of all things strange and out of season, so the Bastard's temple organizes training for sorcerers. And tries to pair demons with riders who are already temple divines.
Which doesn't always work.
[The last was said with Pen's throat and voicebox, but the accent and cadence was decidedly different.]
Yes, that's true.
no subject
That sounds like a very... mutually beneficial arrangement. Does it help others gain an appreciation for the strange and chaotic, rather than irrationally fear it?
[Raising an eyebrow at the voice change.]
Your demon? She shares your body? How far can her control extend?
no subject
Desdemona? Yes, she shares my body. But it depends on what you mean by control.
