The Twenty-Fifth Trial [Mirror]

[The sky is grey and overcast, kind of… Gloomy.

There is no “come hither heroes”, there is no call. Simply, you find yourself in a different place.

Six Japanese style buildings, shrines, in team color roofs, surround the clearing. Despite the wood and rice paper walls there’s no hearing what happens in each building, no seeing what happens in each building, and no entering a building that is not your own team’s unless the game places you there. There is a seventh building of no color that can be sheltered in between rounds.

Sousei, or what looks like him, stands in the center of the clearing but his eyes are black, and pearly white scales cover his body entirely. His voice rings across the clearing like thunder.]

Wretched creatures, struggle, writhe, despair, and fall.

[He raises his hand, lightning strikes him, and his body sheds like snake skin as a massive serpent rises and rises and rises, curling around the whole area, taller than any tree, looking down at the clearing with pure malice.

It starts to rain.]

-You cannot attack the Orochi and if you try it will not do you any good
-The Orochi will not talk to you if you talk to it
-Characters may join late but as soon as a character joins the trial they cannot ICly leave until all rounds are finished on Sunday or the Trial ends early (this is to allow anyone who wishes to skip the whole thing to do so) If you miss a round handwave you were there, it’s fine.
-If you miss a round but have already started playing, your character WILL be on the menu, if they are chosen while you aren’t in play, feel free to go back thread getting eaten.
-The Trial is out of time until it is over, so you can keep threading as if it hasn’t happened until the Trial is over and inserted in the timeline
-Characters cannot discuss strategy or their roles outside of their temples.
-Kami can transform anywhere and any time.

The Game
Your characters know the rules as soon as they enter.

This game will last three rounds or until all teams are berserk or dead. The rules of the game are thus:

Each team will have one Priest (decided OOCly) and all other characters will be Kami. The Priest and one consistent Kami must be present for all rounds so other teams cannot immediately know who the Priest is.

Each team’s Priest suppresses the rage and hunger of the Kami. Should a team’s Priest die, the Kami will go insane, vengefully trying to devour all in their path.

Priests have no powers, but their continued survival keeps the Kami of their team sane. You can play with this however you like.

Kami look human until they wish to reveal their monster form, and have great powers. Kami are constantly hungry. Kami must eat once per round or they risk consequences. They can attempt to refrain for the first round but this is risky.

Everything smells delicious to the Kami, though if they are fed their own team smells less so. The only thing that sates a Kami’s hunger for a while is eating another Kami or Priest.

Every round the teams will get together and pick one of the playing characters of one of the other teams, that character becomes a sacrifice to the Kami, is transported to the room of the team that picked them, stripped of powers if they have any, and must be eaten by the Kami.

There will be a spreadsheet updating in real time with the characters you can choose from to eat, if they are stricken through that means another team has eaten them already. If a team goes black it means their Priest has been eaten and their survivors are berserk.

Priests cannot be hurt in their own temple by other team’s Kami.

Priests can be hurt in their own temple by their own Kami.

All Kami and Priests must leave their temples between rounds.

Winning and Rounds

If a team picks and devours another team’s Priest, they will be counted as winners at the end of the game regardless of what else happens to that team. The other winning criteria is having your Priest still alive at the end of the game.

Should all teams go berserk early, the game will end early.

Winning teams will receive full heals.

Rounds will last up to three hours or until each team has picked someone to eat. It’s first come first serve, so if another team picks your target first you need to pick another target.

Rounds start at 6pm PST and turn in is due no later than 9pm PST. Because the victims are chosen in real time please turn in as soon as you have a decision to.
