(no subject)

Who: Everyone
When: Day 45, early afternoon
Where: Everywhere

[ You've had your time to exchange candy and spooky stories, and the game has come to an end! Everyone who took part received a bag of candy to take to their train, as a bonus reward for the entertainment. Shortly before the game setting can fade away, Finn's going to declare the winners:

Thyme, Senna, Jasmine, and Clover ]

Aaand that's a wrap. With any luck, you guys had some actual fun. Don't forget to brush your teeth and, huh ... enjoy the candy?

[Did someone say memories? It's a good ol' bedtime story about how the light of day is evil.

After the fact, you'll find the older version of the subject of the memory staring out the nearest window with a hesitant expression.]

[Well, that is....quite the story.]

You know, I'm gonna start to wonder if it's always gonna be a thing, day and night fighting each other.

Is that a problem where you're from, as well?
daydreamshimmer: (That's just bizarre)

I wouldn't quite say a problem. More old history, made to sound like a legend.

Equestria was ruled by two sisters, one who controlled the Sun, one who controlled the Moon. But since most ponies slept at night, and enjoyed the day, Celestia was given lots of praise and attention and her sister felt neglected and shunned. Until one day her jealousy grew out of control and she decided to make night eternal.

Celestia was forced to imprison her in the Moon and control the whole day and night cycle. But in a thousand years, the sister now called Nightmare Moon would escape and bring about eternal night.

Or at least that was the legend, but I think something happened because I'm pretty sure I saw the Moon sister and she wasn't trying to bring about eternal night. But the fight a thousand years ago certainly happened.

Perhaps they reconciled, much as they apparently did in my story? Interesting that your deities are present instead of... where ever gods and goddesses usually are, though.

Well, if you're going to be a huge influence on a society, you should be involved in a society, shouldn't you?

Starting off, are you? Collecting them again one by one. How much better it would be if you hadn't forgotten in the first place.

[she's startled a bit from staring out the window, but she doesn't really show it as she turns around to look at him.]

Certainly so. It feels rather cruel to make me have to buy back my own memories piece by piece, but here we are.

You are aware that Light and Shadow have no properties of good and evil, are you not? Such affiliations are those that have been created by man.
nhaamasblessing: (13474381)

[personal profile] nhaamasblessing 2019-11-09 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. Just as no person is inherently bad or good, neither can you ascribe values to something as simple as the dark versus the light... though apparently that's not how I was raised to think.

...Though, it's so fresh in my memory now, it makes me feel torn looking out at the daylight.

Steel yourself against such thoughts. Though I do wonder. How will they taint you over time? Perhaps we will never be destined to see eye to eye.

[personal profile] nhaamasblessing 2019-11-09 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I must say, I'm very curious as to what exactly you hope to see eye to eye on one day. Your motivations and desires are still completely foreign to me.

I could tell you, but would it serve any purpose? Neither of us have access to that which we fought for.

And you are liable to forget yet again, and I do hate to waste effort.

I suppose easing my curiosity isn't high on your list of priorities, is it? But you're right in a way, I suppose — whatever may have happened in the past isn't particularly applicable now, when we have a new goal we need to work together in.

...I'd like to hope that there will be no more memory loss involved, though. Once is enough.

"Once is enough." My dear, you are in for a surprise.

Though I will admit I did not spend much time on the Azim Steppe. My duties required me to be elsewhere. And yours was a reclusive people. Ever fighting your wars. Limiting trade.

[personal profile] nhaamasblessing 2019-11-10 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
[this has happened more than once??? oh no... also, she doesn't know how she feels about him calling her "dear" every now and again.]

I'm guessing that's where I'm from? Funny that, given our apparent distaste of Azim.

I suppose asking what your "duties" were falls under the category of not worth the effort...?

If I am recalling the lore correctly, yes. That is from where you hail.

[He gives a mock bow.]

I had my own country to run at the time. Your Radiance, Solus Zos Galvus, founding father of the Garlean Empire.
nhaamasblessing: (13474380)

[personal profile] nhaamasblessing 2019-11-11 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! Well, forgive me for not realizing I was in the presence of royalty, Your Radiance. I would have better minded my manners.

[quirks a brow at him, though she's smiling, and she bows slightly in return]

And where does "Emet-Selch" factor into this? A title?

What a very good question. I wonder what the answer is.

[personal profile] nhaamasblessing 2019-11-12 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
More mysteries then, I take it?

You should be used to them by now.

But I can tell you, if it is truly your desire to know.

On the one hand, I'll remember eventually, but on the other, at the rate of one memory at a time and at random, it will be ages before I remember everything...

I do wonder if you will remember that which you have forgotten....

To answer the question, 'tis a title. Though when one takes up the mantle it becomes synonymous with their name.
