[After several hours of Kiss or Dare, the bar lights go off and you're let out into the grey pre-dawn. The Cat isn't one for ceremony, so there's no closing fanfare -- but in the sky are new stars in cobalt, pink, & violet. Congratulations to the winners!

You could go home and get some sleep, but you might have a rough time with that. As the sun appears in the sky, there's a horrible ruckus -- the sound of what seems like a million cicadas suddenly springing to life. They're staying in the canopy, not causing particular problems with buzzing around, but they are deafening.

Occasionally, you may hear one particularly low-pitched cicada noise. If you do, cover your ears, else you become hypnotized, overcome by a destructive urge. Those effected will find themselves compelled to act out violence on inanimate objects -- it's only property destruction, but the longer you're effected the more likely you are to lash out at anyone trying to stop you.

Good thing the hypnosis is broken by hugs, because this will be lasting for awhile.

Maybe it's the noise or maybe it's just bad timing, but the arrival of the cicadas is accompanied by the arrival of some new teammates! As always, the notifcation will appear on everyone's Chains:

The stuff that was in my room before — do you know if it's still there? I got my suit and everything before disappearing.

You do not have to thank me, it is fine. Ah, when people fall asleep their items do not remain so I took them in case you ever returned. I did not go through nor look at them more than necessary. Did you want them now?

Not now. I mean - if we're going outside the train then yeah, I'm gonna need it. But it can wait.

As you like, then. Considering the noise, however, hopefully we will not have to.

You can leave it in my new room if you want. But that does remind me - what's up with that noise, anyway?

I am not certain but it may be an attack from what is left from the malice. There is a lower tone that incites the desire for wanton destruction in others. It can be cured with hugs, however.

Wait — seriously? That's bad. Oh, man. That's so bad.

Not everyone seems to be affected by it equally, I am not certain everyone can hear it, perhaps, but it is indeed "bad".

Yeah, but for me it's a "if I lose it I could easily kill some poor guy" bad, and I'm not looking forward it. Is there any way to stop that?

It seems to escalate. It starts with objects. And hugs, again, though I do not know any preventative measure aside from do not go outside for the time being. Pity, I miss swimming already.

Then I'm staying inside for the rest of my days.

Well, if you bond adequately with others you can have a number of comforts created for your use, as you can see with our kitchen upgrade. Though, we did recently receive a library and a gym with training hall. Those could keep you occupied. Or you could practise your cooking. I do not expect it will be permanent.

—We have a library? What's in it? I mean - books, I know, but what kind of books?

Quite a variety, actually, though there are a large number of romances as well. If something is missing, you can request that it be added and it will be in minutes, it is immensely convenient. I've not been wanting for science or magic texts. Or mystery novels. Surprisingly, or perhaps not, there are books that are familiar to me. I wonder if that holds true for everyone?

Can you bring the books to your room? Are there return fees? Can I bring hot dogs to the library?

I think I'm staying in the library for the rest of my days. Even if the cicadas go.

Tragically, they cannot be taken from the library, but there are comfortable reading spaces. As a result, there are no return fees.

[why are you bringing FOOD INTO THE LIBRARY NO.]

You should not be bringing food into a library at any rate.
