[After several hours of Kiss or Dare, the bar lights go off and you're let out into the grey pre-dawn. The Cat isn't one for ceremony, so there's no closing fanfare -- but in the sky are new stars in cobalt, pink, & violet. Congratulations to the winners!

You could go home and get some sleep, but you might have a rough time with that. As the sun appears in the sky, there's a horrible ruckus -- the sound of what seems like a million cicadas suddenly springing to life. They're staying in the canopy, not causing particular problems with buzzing around, but they are deafening.

Occasionally, you may hear one particularly low-pitched cicada noise. If you do, cover your ears, else you become hypnotized, overcome by a destructive urge. Those effected will find themselves compelled to act out violence on inanimate objects -- it's only property destruction, but the longer you're effected the more likely you are to lash out at anyone trying to stop you.

Good thing the hypnosis is broken by hugs, because this will be lasting for awhile.

Maybe it's the noise or maybe it's just bad timing, but the arrival of the cicadas is accompanied by the arrival of some new teammates! As always, the notifcation will appear on everyone's Chains:

Yeah. How much of that is true or not is up in the air, only been here less than a week myself, but there does seem to be something to it all.

I can make you some cocoa, answer any questions you have, and we can figure out your nickname. Clover has a time theme.

[ His brows furrow a bit at 'cocoa', like he's sure he's heard it somewhere before he remembers what it actually is. Ah, that imported drink. ]

It's a good drink. And if you don't like it, we can try something else. [Leading the way downstairs.]

Yeah. Morning, Noon, Dusk, Twilight, Midnight. Those are the names so far.

It sounds familiar, but kind of -- in a foreign way? But it can't hurt to try.

[ He follows after Dusk. Hearing the names makes him smile, despite himself. 'Cosmic joke' is right. ]

Gotta admit, it's a cute theme.

Long distance travel hard in your world?

It is pretty cute. So things like Dawn, Evening, Afternoon work. Could probably do more like...Teatime or Brunch maybe.

Not that common yet, I think.

I pity whoever ends up being named after mealtimes, which obviously isn't going to be me. So...Dawn, I guess.

[Nods.] That's make sense. Cocoa beans only grow in certain environments naturally.

Eh, worst things to be.

Dawn it is. We were getting night heavy anyway. [And downstairs and more pink and he heads over to the kitchen.]

[Gods save him from all this pink, that's why he was making faces earlier.]

Just, you can't even make a snappy sounding name with Teatime and Brunch unless the goal is making people not take you seriously.

Eh, you can make any name sound threatening enough with the right attitude. So why not serious enough?

Kinda. We're the pink team. Everyone's got a color.

[Gonna make fancy cocoa now. With milk and chocolate bits and everything.]

How many people are there here?

By my last count. [Silent a few moments.]

Twenty-two.

Huh. And we're all divided into teams?

That's right. Six teams.

Ginger, Lirorice, Thyme, Senna, Jasmine, and we're Clover.

Huh. None of them too big, I assume?

Teams can have up to seven people, but we're all around three to five right now. But we may have more now, it seems like a few people come at a time.

Hmmm. Gotta keep the 'heroes' coming in steadily, I suppose.

Maybe pulls from some cosmic proximity. One of the girls who arrived same day I did is someone I know...somehow. We have matching jewelry.

[And coca get. Setting down a cup in front of him and taking his own seat.] Careful, it's hot.

Haha, maybe it's destiny?

[ He's going to blow at his drink first to try and cool it down. ]

....god, I hope not, that sounds exhausting. [Says the guy whose been through this song and dance multiple times already.]

Destiny tends to be like that.

...I think I preferred just being the sci fi guy.

So what kind of guy would you consider yourself now?

The soldier guy willing to do whatever it takes to protect people even if some are being it stupidly hard for no good reason.

[ Ye gods, maybe destiny really was having a laugh somewhere. At him, currently. ]
