That's the thing about looking for other perspectives. You can't really say what you're looking for because you're curious how someone else sees something.
I am aware of that. My point is that you are remembering and relearning those lessons are you not? You do not need an uninvolved party to tell you what you already know, though, I suppose, it is your right to ask for advice.
He said that he was never dead. That his limbs simply stopped working and he was left in the garage, and that it was the most enjoyable experience he's had in years. And then you all came along. Among other colourful dialogue.
[Okay, that gets a laugh out of him.] You know....fair. [He's only seen Donut and Sarge for ten mintues and he already knows there are times he wants to shake them, but he's also stupidly fond.] I don't know Spanish, not really, but a couple of words did sound pretty.... [Insulting. Words do have a logic to them.]
[But the smile fades into something more thoughtful.] I wonder how that happened. I don't think he's supposed to have that much personality.
He's a dumb AI. Not intelligence, its colloquial term. Theta and Delta are smart AI's. Dumb ones are just normal if advanced programming, supposed to listen to parameters and follow protocols. Any personality is generally supposed to make them 'pleasant' to interact with, not to sass and be sarcastic. Freckles might be the same, they shouldn't have a reason to fight after a battle is lost. Dumb AIs would be expendable.
Smart AI's aren't. No one throws away a smart AI if at all avoidable. A smart AI can feel and has true adaptability a dumb AI can't achieve. You can try to put parameters on them, but a smart AI can generally circumvent if they want to bad enough. Also because you can't make them easily, you need a human brain or a clone's brain to make one and the process kills the brain.
If Lopez was a smart AI, he wouldn't have been put in the trash. Certainly not someone would see as 'meaningless.' It's just....very interesting. I was feeling as protective of him as the others, so there was definitely seeing him as a person. Freckles too.
I mean, I already wanted to shoot Locus in the face, but hearing him hurt Freckles just made me want to do it more.
If it was just that army? I could think it was possible.
But that Locus guy...
I was handcuffed, in an enemy base, with armed guards, with people I was sure wanted us dead. And I believed we could handle it. It would suck, but I was sure we could figure a way out.
But Locus was different. He was a threat. He was a threat I wasn't sure I could beat. That doesn't come from someone just being skilled. He was a pompous ass, but I also didn't think he was just talk either.
The Federal Army might have made that mistake. I don't believe he would.
The Federal Army put a sectary in charge and then asked for help from guys they almost killed before capturing.
There's no way he'd pass up recruiting a smart AI if he thought it was feasible. He thought we were feasible, he wouldn't have grabbed Freckles' program if he didn't. And if we were, so would be our AI friend.
[At least if Locus IS with the Federal army....no, that's just being paranoid. What else could he even be trying to accomplish?]
Maybe that's why I'm still Washington with those guys. If it was a new group, I should change a name, but if it was still with the project sort of thing...
Washington is a codename. At least, I doubt the Director really found a bunch of people who just so happened to have state names. Doesn't make sense to use it if I'm not with that team.
[Unless you went crazy and had to do some severe coping gymnastics.]

Ah, I see. He did the same. I suppose the Instructor made the rounds, then.

He did. He seemed very excited to do it.

[she thinks dr gray is AWESOME though]

[So does he]
[He loves that crazy doctor lady, she's good people.]
The past is how you learn. No past and you're just always flying blind. Success, mistakes, all that helps you make better decisions in the future.
Or maybe feel less like you're just kind of throwing things at the wall in hopes something sticks.

But I'm with Clover, so it's important to have a Clover name. At least to me.

[She feels very strongly about this, to be perfectly honest and though her voice remains calm and polite, there is an undeniable underlying firmness.]

Is that why you don't like using names without formality?
