Special ops. Someone was hoarding alien tech, and they had a high level asset. Probably a bunch of legal tape where legally, it couldn't be obtained.

I know alien stuff exists. I know ancient alien stuff exists. But when I try to think aliens in the present, it's all a blank.

Might be part of the job is hiding currently existing alien stuff from the masses.

Possibly set up prank traps. Either people are amused or mad and you can turn around mad into more positive feelings.
