Who: All the cute little heroes
When: Day 35, evening
Where: Back To Your Regularly Scheduled Great Outdoors, Just outside the train

[ The beach fades away all at once, taking the cheery sunshine with it as evening hits all at once-- it melts away in a shower of sparkles as the familiar setting re-emerges. There are new stars in the sky above in clover pink, senna red, jasmine blue, and licorice violet.

Just before the beach disappears entirely, the bubbly voice speaks once more: ]

Wasn't that so much fun! You all rrrrrreally got to know each other, didn't you? Keep up the good work~!

[ If you had any alcohol in hand you still have it, otherwise everything from the trial is gone. ]

[it's full of tiny bird-like bones nestled between the cotton balls, though the skull is all too spiky to be a parrot despite its hooked beak]

[and the little skeleton lifts its head, two bright sparks appearing in its empty eye sockets]

This is so badass. [And cute. But it's also a bone dragon so badass.]

[Lori climbs out of the container to perch on its rim, holding onto the edge with her wing-claws for balance, and cocking her head to one side and then to the other to examine Dusk.]

This is Lori! She's a 700-year-old flowerdrake.

Flowerdrake....

Cool.

[He holds out a hand for her to...sniff????]

Does she like pets?

[Lori rears back a little, staring at his hand.

....steps onto it]

Sometimes she does. She can be fickle.

[Will keep his hand still. Won't move unless she moves all the way onto his hand.]

So like a cat.

[she does, in fact! climbing onto his hand and wrapping her thin bony tail around his wrist]

In that both can bite you, sure.

Well, also the fickle.

[Awww yeah, got a dragon. Carefully setting down her nest. He's very good at keeping his hand steady, at least.]

[Lori clacks her beak and sets to preening, starting with nibbling on her rib bones]

Usually she gets compared to a bird. A cat is new!

May not know a lot about birds.

[Cute]

But fickle and preening, very catlike.

She's probably about as spoiled as a housecat, too.

Does she eat things?

She can’t eat, but she likes to chew up things that she would eat alive. She has fun making a mess of it.

What are her favorite chew toys then?

Fruit and flowers. I usually keep cereal on hand for her.

[Nodding.] I'll have to have some next time then.

[Gonna try petting her.]

[Lori opens her beak, cocking her head suspiciously, what is this interupption to PREENING??]

Lori, be nice, baby.

[but allows pettings]

It's all right if she bites. Biting is just a sign of not wanting something. Pettings are good things, not things to be tolerated.

[You're gonna get yourself bit, Wash.]

[....but to be fair, that has happened plenty.]

[But will pet if allowed.]

[she does allow it, settling in to let him do the preening instead]

No, it's not all right. She knows better and she could do serious damage to someone. She has other ways to communicate.

[Will definitely help with that preening. Light scritches and all.]

Mostly body language. But also body language that isn't biting.

[Nods.]

To be fair, people can be pretty blind to body language.
