Let's Play 20 Questions
Who: Everyone
When: Day 30, afternoon
Where: the Aurora
[Though the sun should be high in the air, just after noon the sky clouds over, and a steady drizzle begins. While gloomy, it's not particularly harsh, and the warm weather means you might even enjoy being out in it! In fact, the relatively thin and patchy clouds mean you may seem rainbows here and there. It's quite nice, really -- except, that is, that there are now tiny frogs everywhere. Near the train they're safe, but closer to the corrupt areas they're toxic.
At the same time, you hear the jingle associated with an official message from your Chain -- the usual "newbie time" balloon animation and text:]
[This round's new blood are waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas.
For the first hour or so, it seems that'll all that'll happen today. But then there's that all too familiar Trial feeling...
...Aaaand a flashy pink convertible has arrived in the clearing. It's followed up by another message:]
[Message sent, Cardamom gets out of his car and unfurls a big, incredibly sparkly silver umbrella. It looks like the most intensely holographic nail polish you can buy, and the raindrops only make it worse.]
[[OOC NOTES: As the monthly prompts, the rain and frogs will continue until next month's placements. You can find more info on them in the announcements over here!
If you want to tag Cardamom, there's a toplevel here. If you have any questions, please ping the mods via the q&a. Thank you!]]

WELCOME NEW HEROES
[This round's new blood are waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas.
For the first hour or so, it seems that'll all that'll happen today. But then there's that all too familiar Trial feeling...
...Aaaand a flashy pink convertible has arrived in the clearing. It's followed up by another message:]
Hello, everyone. Your ever-grateful Prince speaking. It's been awhile and we've got some new faces, so I'm here to answer a few questions.
Buut to spare myself a little, I'm limiting it to one question per hero. I'll tell the truth, no matter what you ask, as long as it's at all reasonable! After that though, I reserve the right to cut you off -- but I won't, probably, if you play nice.
Sooo, how about you come outside and see me?

he looks as if to say something, then hesitates. ... before he settles on something else. ]
Are you the only one here? [ a beat. ] ... do you remember your name?
no subject
[To the other question, she shakes her head, the slightest bit down about it.]
Can't say I remember anything at all.
no subject
You'll need a name then. [ closes the cupboard he'd been looking in. effectively closing the door on the subject of 'what he lost', instead moving on ]
... you're sure that I'm the only person you've seen? [ unfortunate. ]
no subject
[She is, in more than one way. But in any case-]
Positive. I haven't left our part of the train yet though. [Whatever a train is lol]
no subject
At this point in time you're essentially not much different from a child. [ an agreement? really, it sounds more like a reminder. an assertion of the facts that she should be aware of. ]
This place is new to me, but I remember enough. It looks as if we are to be "teammates". For the time being you should decide on something to call yourself.

Although this guy had a point, and it was agreeing with hers, she was still pouting. Not knowing things was annoying, and having no clue about who she was?
The worst!]
How do they expect me to do that? Is there a book of names here or something?
no subject
... normally the others would-- [ the others aren't here.
gods damnit. ]
Just pick something you like. A force of nature, or... an animal maybe.
no subject
Damn it is right.]
I like frogs, I think? And good weather, and... I guess the kind of stuff everyone likes?
How the sky looks in the morning too, even though I hate waking up for it.
no subject
he sighs out, listening to her words. how simple. ]
The name given to me once was "Midnight". If you want a similar name, you could go by "Morning". .... or I could call you "Frog".
no subject
So you've done something like this before? And Morning sounds fine, Frog sounds a bit silly for a name.
no subject
...... something like this. [ it's a confirmation, but also frustratingly vague.
more like... he doesn't know how to describe it. so he won't, for now.
.... ]
Frog isn't the worst name someone could call you.
no subject
[Hand gestures! Yeah, not having the words to describe something is a thing she can understand. Better to try to find words than to push him, though.
How odd, that someone would have to deal with this twice.]
Incapable?
no subject
....... for an uncomfortably long period of time, really. ]
You won't have to worry about your name giving anyone that idea.
no subject
You're teasing me! [He probably isn't the teasing type. She knows that already, but still.] But it's okay, I know I'll probably have to prove myself at whatever this is.
no subject
just. half-turns away from her again and strides across the room to look in another cabinet. ]
You will be. [ affirms, moving through the room like a machine. just. busying himself with searching while he speaks. ] There will be trials, and many of them are going to be violent and miserable. From experience.
