Who: Everyone
When: Day 20, evening
Where: The train and surrounding terrain

[So after all the earlier excitement.... dramatic organ music starts to play through the cars. There's no obvious source. It's just... There? All around you for a while, before fading.

Of course before the music fades there's more things going on. A mist seeps up from the earth outside the train and within the train simply seems to form like it's produced by invisible fog machines. As the mist grows into a thick fog, you can hear eerie noises. Distant wolf howls, the screech of a fox that sounds like human screaming, owls hooting hauntingly, the leathery flap of bat wings, and other, less identifiable noises of the night, strange and otherworldly.

If you go out in it, breathe it in, the mist will chill you. Make you desire... Touch.

The need to hold another person is an almost growing compulsion, but it can be fought.

However things that are harder to avoid are the flowers, night blooming wisteria in white and purple seems to have grown from nowhere in the train cars, hanging down to brush the heads of passengers with sweet scented blossoms, and the floors of the train and ground around it have become endless beds of gently glowing moonflowers.

The only places the fog and flowers don't reach are team cabins.

Effects:

Mist:
  • Cold that cannot be dispelled without touch, a desire to touch others.

  • Wisteria:
  • Purple blossoms cause an empathetic bond with the next person you touch.
  • White blossoms cause arousal and a mild to powerful aphrodisiac effect.

  • Moonflowers:
  • Share memories or thoughts with the next person you touch.

  • By morning the mist and flowers will vanish.]

[He never socializes himself how's he supposed to know what other teams are like??]

They're all introverted I take it?
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-20 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
    Fairly so.

[She's had a teammate the whole time she's been here she just met today.]

Well, sometimes that's how it is I suppose. Clover merely doesn't stick around.
    desirestruth: (And fell into Hell)

    It's a little lonely, isn't it?

    [personal profile] saddleclub 2019-04-20 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmph. I'm fine. But you seem the social sort. I take it you're finding some interactions elsewhere.
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

[...She just went kinda red. Hey is the tea done let's pour that into and explicitly not answer that question!]

[He snorts in amusement but takes his cup.]

    The aroma is quite pleasant.
desirestruth: (The heart that couldn't bear it)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-20 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
    Yes...I'd hoped so.

[Let's just have tea. With absolutely impeccable table manners, because that shit becomes reflexive after a while.]

    [personal profile] saddleclub 2019-04-20 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yep, two people being perfect in table manners sipping tea in a spooky mist.]

It's a shame we don't have some of Sharon's coming to accompany this fine tea.
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-20 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
    Sharon's?

[She tilts her head at a 45 degree angle.

    Like a dog.]

    [Weird. Kind of cute?]

A maid of exceptional skill, among other things. She works for a friend of mine, but she'd surely be able to whip up something to compliment this flavor perfectly.
    desirestruth: (And fell into Hell)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-20 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! That would be delightful... I don't have my skill for cooking back yet. Though to be honest, it's probably inferior to someone who's done it for a living.

    [personal profile] saddleclub 2019-04-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I can only cook a few things with any decency myself.

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-20 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really need to eat, so I only ever learned as a way to pass time with others....it's never been more than a hobby.

    [wait. what?]

    [personal profile] saddleclub 2019-04-20 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
    You don't need to eat?
    desirestruth: (What if I return?)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-20 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I subsist on...other things. I can eat, but nutritionally it doesn't do anything for me.

    What other things?

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-21 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
[...She really hoped he wouldn't ask that. But she kind of...sighs.]

    ...Blood.

    ...Like a vampire?
    desirestruth: (The lantern lights)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-21 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
    Apparently.

[VAMPIRES AREN'T REALLY A THING WHERE SHE'S FROM.]

I haven't ever fed on anyone who didn't offer, so if you'd like to get the rest of your heebie jeebies out and done with, I'd appreciate it.
    saddleclub: (30)

    [personal profile] saddleclub 2019-04-21 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I have never had a heebie or a jeebie in my life. But you must confess hearing about something that's only mythology in my own world would surprise anyone.
desirestruth: (The end of the tunnel)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-21 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose it's a better reaction then fear or revulsion.

[Like, no one's freaked out and tried to murder her yet, it's weird.]
    saddleclub: (24)

    [personal profile] saddleclub 2019-04-21 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Fear and revulsion would certainly be ungentlemanly ways to react to a lady.
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

    [personal profile] desirestruth 2019-04-21 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's surprising how little that ever seems to stop anyone, but I appreciate the thought.

Perhaps the gentlemen in your life need reform school. Or they're simply not gentlemen to begin with.
