Isn't it obvious it's paleontology?

It was my first choice. But an archeologist might be interested in domesticated animals of old societies.

Maybe, it's true they like to look at stuff like that. But honestly, summoning an ancient goat or dog is way below my paygrade.

If the souls are fragmentary, what can you learn from summoning them?

The souls are fragmented, but they make the shape of a whole one when you combine them.

You'd have to make sure you got all the same species of soul, correct?

Of course. That's not a huge issue though, like I'm sure some subspecies or hybrids fing their way in, and a lot of the time I will draw from a broad area geographically or chronographically, but unrelated souls aren't going to want to form up with unrelated souls or an unfamiliar host skeleton.
