Who: Heroes, possibly suffering
When: Day 16, Late Morning through Afternoon
Where: Aurora

[Well, that just happened! Many people on the train are now doubtlessly the worse for wear, physically and psychologically. How are you sorting all of that out?

Alternately, maybe you have enough Sparks for a memory and you're playing it on the big screen? Or you're testing out a new power?

Or maybe you have something else in mind? Mingle away!]

[Emilia gestures to the second one.]

That looks like a holy symbol from my world, but the first one isn't familiar.

Like this?

[scratches a ⊕ next to her symbol]

There's a lot of similar-looking cross signs, but the first two symbols I used are for marking "center of gravity." I've noticed a really big difference in my skeletons' motions if I check that their movements correspond to the weight of their original body, rather than to their current lighter weight.

Mm, like - no, not quite, but I guess it doesn't matter. The way we do it automates most of this, we let the old soul remember how to...walk on its new legs. I suppose.

Oh sure, a lot of what Isildur and Isolde do is from their own instincts. I use these icons more like a shorthand or a citation mark— If I was summoning a pigeon or something quick, I wouldn't want to bother writing the whole formulae. But for my familiars I did the whole script, and used these more as key marks to keep everything extra secure, like writing everything into the circle and then linking it to a sigil written on the bones. They're very old, they have their own magic that needs their weights to be right to work comfortably, and they were meant for familiars, so I didn't want to risk any wiggle room. I like to double-up spellwork and natural soul operations when I can.

[scribbling out some of the formulas in the sand: some mix of physics, Latin, and assorted symbols]

Mmh. I should tell you I never really got to go to school for this. I've been trying to teach myself out of books, but most of what I'm assigned to do is work on things someone else already raised that just need to be repaired.
