(no subject)

Who: anyone
When: day 29 all day
Where: wherever!

[Mingle, look at memories, run amok, whatever.

Or, you know, there's morning glories blooming all around the train today. Mostly white but with a few brilliant crimson flowers (do morning glories come in that color?), all of them smell sweet and lovely, though the red ones smell a bit like... cinnamon? They're also blooming all day, which is weird.

The scent wafts pleasantly through the train through the morning. The sweet scent brings the urge to be honest and express your emotions freely. The more spiced scent... might make you randy? No not the tall redhead. The other kind.

In either case neither effect is generally overwhelming, and can in most cases be overcome, if you happen to notice you're under any influence in the first place. The effects are subtle enough.

In the afternoon a light rain will crush the flowers, making the scents heavier, and the effects stronger for a few hours, before it all clears up in the evening.]

I... have no idea. I'm not even sure whether he's rooting for it to look good or not, I'm just committing.

Of course we're going to make it look good either way.

Thanks for your help.

Oh for sure! My pleasure.

[tabbing through options. hm hm hm hmmm.]

Yes? No? More this, less that? 50% of what makes a dress is how good you feel wearing it.

[personal profile] crimeson 2019-06-15 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Ohh, the last two are nice. --Well, they all are, but those two are my preference so far. So I guess... heftier cloths?
bowtiedbones: (27)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-06-15 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, great! We can definitely work with that. There's a lot of options with satin.

Great! I also like the cool shoulders.

Oh good, I was kind of looking for dresses that had something interesting going on there. Like off-shoulder or modified cap sleeves, embellishment... Since you have a broader build, I figured we should lean into that.

[nodding along]

Seems pretty reasonable, from the parts of it I get. Damn that last one though.

What stands out to you about that one?
crimeson: (but i won't wait much longer)

[personal profile] crimeson 2019-06-18 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
The design on the skirt and the lining, I think.

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-06-19 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so something high-contrast?
bowtiedbones: (51)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-06-20 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It makes for a great effect, doesn’t it? I don’t need formal workwear here, but I’ve been really eyeing this in lime for me.

[closes that bookmark and snaps open some more options: tap tap tap tap tap]

So these first two are really just more examples of what you can do with a hi-lo cut for contrast. Also note the draping on them! These last ones are in the same colorscheme as that last dress you liked, but variations. We can totally just mix & match the best parts.

[whistles]

The draping on that second one is niiiice. The first rose one has a really nice print, too, though I'd probably wanna go with a different kind of top...

It's pretty extreme, isn't it? Do you want to swap in one of the other tops? There's a lot of different styles, but I think an off-the-shoulder, asymmetric, or Queen Anne neckline would work best.
crimeson: (and if we've come a long way)

[personal profile] crimeson 2019-06-21 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, yeah. Off the shoulder sounds good, too, but what kind is a Queen Anne neckline, exactly?
bowtiedbones: (27)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-06-21 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
A Queen Anne combines a sweetheart neckline with a collar over the back of the neck, and it can have cap sleeves or full sleeves. You can also get bolero jackets to create the look, which are great for adding extra color or adornment to an already-bought dress.

Oh, huh. That sounds pretty nice too...

How do you ever get dressed? I like lookin' good well enough, but it's so complicated on this side of things.
bowtiedbones: (95)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-06-21 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
With a lot of trial and error, mostly! Try things on and try on more things, and repeat.
