I'm only working off my own gut instincts, but I think it's better to be honest with yourself than it is to try and be some paragon of virtue and goodness. I mean... unless you're a mass murderer, in which case don't be honest with yourself.

Not that wanting to help people is bad, of course. I just don't think it's wrong to be selfish.
